Skew Gallery would like to congratulate Matt Crookshank on his upcoming solo exhibition Razor Beam at the Museo De La Ciudad Santiago de Queretaro, in Mexico. In addition to his solo exhibition, Crookshank will also exhibit work recently created at the Banff Centre as part of the collective Unconstrained Growth Into The Void. Both of these exhibitions take place April. 24th to June 21st. 2009 curated by Gabriel Horner Garcia.

Emma Lake Workshop

Congratulations Kim Dorland on your invitation to lead the  historic and prestigious Emma Lake 2009 Workshop from July19th- August 2.  Dorland joins the company of noteworthy  artists and critics such as Barnett Newman (1959), Clement Greenberg (1962), Kenneth Noland (1963), Jules Olitski (1964) and Anthony Caro (1977),whom also have served as workshop leaders over the four  decades that workshops were held.

Nature and the Transformative Qualities of Art: a dialogue.

Skew Gallery would like to announce Michael Camerons inclusion in the panel discussion in this topical discussion. Joining Cameron on the panel of artists is Edward Burtynsky and Peter von Tiesenhausen. This discussion explores the artists role in shedding light on social issues, and takes place at the Whyte Museum in Banff, Alberta on Feb.9 at 7pm

Skew Gallery would like to congratulate Diana Thorneycroft on being named one of the Top 10 exhibitions in 2008 by Canadian Art magazine. Skew Gallery first debuted work from The Group of Seven Akward Moments at Photo Miami in 2007. Look for the exhibition at Skew in February 2009.

Congratulations to Diana Thorneycroft for her upcoming group exhibition "Hinterlands" at the MacIntosh Gallery at the University of Western Ontario. The exhibition will consist of works by artists Fastwurms, Sky Glabush, Colette Urban and Diana Thorneycroft, and is curated by Patrick Mahon. The exhibition runs from September 18 - November 2, 2008.


Congratulations to Margaux Williamson who premiere's her new work "Teenager Hamlet 2006" an installation and video project at the Toronto International Film Festival Sept. 5 - 13, 2008. This work is presented by Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art, and is curated by Steve Gravestock.


Congratulations to Amalie Atkins, recipient of PAVED Arts Members' Production Fund Award. Her new film/ photo based project entitled "Scenes from a secret world" will exhibit at Paved Arts and AKA Gallery from Sept. 12 - Oct. 11, 2008.


Congratulations to Amalie Atkins on her upcoming group exhibition "Flatlanders: Saskatchewan Artists on the Horizon" which runs from Sept. 19 - January 4 at the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon. This exhibition will screen Atkins film "Three Minute Miracle" . This film will also run during the opening night of "Antimatter Underground Film Fest" in Victoria, BC. The film will play Sept. 19 at 7pm at Deluge Contemporary Art Gallery


Congratulations to Dave and Jenn for their upcoming group exhibition "Future's So Bright", Truck Gallery's 25th Anniversary. The Opening Reception will be held Friday, September 5th from 5 to 8pm. The exhibition runs from September 6 to October 4, 2008.


Congratulations to Dave and Jenn for their inclusion in the exhibition "Thick & Thin" at the Glenbow Museum, curated by Wil Murray.

This group exhibition brings together the works of 8 artists to discuss through their mutual connections with Calgary, its extrodinary complexity of excesses and voids, of abundance, and the lack there of. Shared imagination, and artistic innnovation come together in "Thick and Thin" to form a contemporary reflection of these emerging artists.

This exhibition is on display at the Glenbow Museum and is co-produced by Illigworth Kerr Gallery, Glenbow Museum, and Sled Island Music Festival.

This festival is renowned for its attention to innovative video and film work created by prairie filmmakers, as a means of expression in context with the the national and international landscape.

Congratulations to Amalie Atkins for her recent acceptance into Landlocked Film Festival in Iowa City for the screening of "Three Minute Miracle". This Festival takes place August 21-24, 2008. This event will mark Atkins first international screening.


Congratulations to Matt Crookshank on his acceptance to the thematic residency: "Cosmic Ray Research" at the Banff Centre for the Arts. The residency program will take place September 15 - October 31, 2008.
